The need to be creative daily is a form of meditation for me. The creative thoughts flow from my fingertips to the canvas and let the paintbrush follow where they take me.

Creating a new piece of work can take weeks. You prepare the canvas, dividing the spaces into forms that compete or flow with others. Making lines, letting them dry, step away and come back to it with a vision of what the original lines show you. Color and texture are the choruses of the work. It's an emotional sense about colors and how to use them to enhance the lines to tell a story or evoke a reaction.

Lines are just lines until you put them down onto something with meaning and thought. I am always trying something different and new, hopefully refining my craft with every piece I create.

The original drawing is blending with the color I started with...you have to keep flipping back and forth between your original intent and the moment's visual energy.

The world is full of natural art and beauty. We move so fast in our lives we miss most of it. Our subconscious takes note and catalogs. I believe that this is how we form opinions about what we experience in our day to day lives. The more we can tap into this notion the more we can truly experience the present. If you find yourself with a second to pause, slow down and take a breath. Then take in the art around you.

They say an artist is only as good as their last piece. Therefore, I create. I choose, I make mistakes, I learn, I move forward and make decisions. I want my art to inspire, preserve and encompass a vast array of visual stories from my soul.

Life imitates life all around us.

To be aware of oneself in the present state is a gift.

I paint in the moment.

Lines, thick, glossy and black paint that flows and oozes over the white wooden canvas'.

Struggling to dry.

Colorful pastels, being violently ground into the white.

Background, building layers of depth and texture.

Finally, all coming to a rest before the last coat of clear resign cast their fate for eternity.
